TikTok, which is known for shaping music trends and viral songs, said the new feature is designed to make it easier to go from the moment of discovery to deeper listening.
The label or distributor has to opt in to tagging their music as AI, so it’s unclear how effective this intervention will be.
Apple says its services had a “record-breaking year,” as Apple TV, Apple Music, and Apple Pay also soared.
This year, Apple Music Replay includes even more listening habits, including the “Discovery” section, which highlights new artists users listened to, and “Loyalty,” which spotlights artists that users have kept coming back to each year.
Spotify’s dependence on algorithmic recommendations has gotten too suffocating.
