OpenAI says GPT 5.6 is the ‘preferred model’ for Microsoft Copilot amid breakup chatter
OpenAI’s new family of models will continue to power Microsoft’s suite of workplace and productivity apps.
The new features would be geared toward enterprise customers, with better security controls than the famously risky open source OpenClaw agent.
The company is reducing Copilot entry points on Windows, starting with Photos, Widgets, Notepad, and other apps.
Microsoft said the bug meant that its Copilot AI chatbot was reading and summarizing paying customers’ confidential emails, bypassing data protection policies.
