Google is working on various types of AI-powered glasses — one model is designed for screen-free assistance, using built-in speakers, microphones, and cameras to allow the user to communicate with Gemini and take photos. The other model has an in-lens display — which is only visible to the person wearing the glasses — that can show turn-by-turn directions or closed captioning.
The promise is AI that’s uniquely helpful because it knows you. But the risk is AI that feels more like surveillance than service.
Gemini will replace Google Assistant and give drivers the ability to make playlists, access email, and learn about a city — all through voice.
Now, when users search for places in Map like restaurants, hotels, or concert venues, they’ll see a new “know before you go” tips section that will surface important information about the place.
Google released Gemini 3, its latest and most advanced foundation model, to be made immediately available through the Gemini app and AI search interface.
